On 4 December 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assistant Professor Kiratiporn Jooteviriya, Ph.D., Director of the ASEAN Studies Centre, along with Vietnamese language lecturers from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, welcomed Mr. Đinh Hoàng Linh, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Khon Kaen Province, for a bilateral discussion.
The meeting aimed to strengthen academic cooperation between the two sides, focusing on the instruction of the Vietnamese language, joint research initiatives, and academic publications. Specific emphasis was placed on research topics related to the Mekong subregion, culture, education, and international research partnerships.
Furthermore, the discussion explored avenues for establishing a Vietnamese Studies Research Centre under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This proposed centre would serve as a central platform for systematically developing knowledge and driving collaboration in Vietnamese studies.
This meeting marks another significant step in fostering the relationship between Khon Kaen University and the Consulate General of Vietnam at the local level, laying the groundwork for expanded regional cooperation in the future.
