Khon Kaen University Sends Aid to Southern Flood Victims

Khon Kaen University has dispatched a large shipment of donated goods to assist those affected by severe flooding in southern Thailand. This effort, part of the “KKU Unites to Help Flood Victims” campaign, marks the second phase of the university’s relief initiative, following an earlier donation of 500,000 baht in financial support.

The shipment contains essential consumer goods, medical supplies, and non-perishable food items intended to alleviate the immediate hardships faced by residents in the flood-stricken region. These supplies were gathered over a 10-day donation drive that saw significant contributions from Khon Kaen residents, alumni, university staff, and students.

Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization, led a team of staff and student volunteers in organizing and loading the relief items for prompt delivery.

The aid was transported via Khon Kaen Airport with support from AirAsia. This flight represented the third and final air shipment of relief supplies organized by the university.

Assistant Professor Ratchada Chomphunich, who serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development at Kasetsart University and chairs a student development committee for the Council of University Presidents of Thailand, was present to witness the effort. She commended the strong collaborative spirit of the volunteers and offered her encouragement.

The university stated that the mission highlights its commitment to social responsibility and its readiness to assist those in need, regardless of geographical distance.
