The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Education and Digital, who delivered an inspiring address encouraging students to represent Khon Kaen University and Thailand with pride, professionalism, and a sense of global responsibility.
The programme was designed to equip students with the essential knowledge, skills, and cross-cultural competencies needed for international workplaces—fostering adaptability, open-mindedness, and global citizenship.
The full-day event featured lectures and seminars including:
- “Preparation for KKU International CWIE Students, Batch 7” by Miss Pronthip Charoenrat
- “Open Heart, Open Mind: From Classroom to Workplace” focusing on self-awareness, cultural understanding, and effective communication
- “Cross-Cultural Communication in the Workplace” conducted by language experts from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and KKU Language Institute
- Interactive Roleplay Session designed to enhance teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills
This year, 97 students from 10 faculties joined the programme, representing the Faculties of Technology, Engineering, Business Administration and Accounting, Economics, Medicine, Integrated Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Agriculture, and the College of Local Administration.
Students will be undertaking international placements across nine countries —Lao PDR, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Hungary. Each student serves not only as a representative of Khon Kaen University but also as a Cultural Ambassador of Thailand, showcasing Thai students’ capability and global mindset.
This initiative reflects Khon Kaen University’s strong commitment to developing globally competent graduates and nurturing “global citizens” who will drive Thailand’s future with knowledge, integrity, and cross-cultural understanding.
