13 November 2025 – The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU), launched the “Road to Physics: Path to Physics Studies #2” camp, held from 13 to 16 November 2025 at Wittayawipas 1 Room, Wittayawipas Building, Faculty of Science. Associate Professor Somnuek Worawiset, Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations, presided over the opening ceremony, and Professor Supreedee Phinisthuntra, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Physics, delivered the welcoming address. More than 200 high school students and Physics students participated in the activity, which aimed to inspire them and shift their attitude towards learning Physics to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Professor Supreedee Phinisthuntra, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Physics, commented on the camp’s objectives, stating: “We focus on student-centred learning, where the instructor shifts their role from a knowledge provider to a learning partner. This approach stimulates systematic thinking processes and fosters a positive attitude towards studying Physics through diverse learning resources and practical experiments.”
The camp also seeks to motivate students to pursue higher education in Physics, encouraging them to think critically, communicate academically, and develop practical Physics competencies, including leadership and teamwork.
Participants were encouraged to understand the importance of Physics as a core foundation for technological and innovative development. Professor Supreedee noted that Physics is often perceived as a difficult field with limited career pathways. However, he emphasised that Thailand currently faces a severe shortage of qualified Physics personnel, a deficit that affects the nation’s competitiveness and capacity for advanced technological progress.
Professor Supreedee concluded that organising this camp demonstrates the Department of Physics’ and the Faculty of Science’s commitment to cultivating high-quality human resources in science, directly addressing the needs of the knowledge-based economy era. The initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal on Quality Education, promoting a society driven by lifelong learning and innovation.
