คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างงดงามในเวทีการประกวดออกแบบระดับนานาชาติ โดยนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทและคณาจารย์ได้รับรางวัลจากการประกวดที่มีชื่อเสียง 2 รายการ ได้แก่ Hong Kong Contemporary Design Awards ครั้งที่ 6 และ Singapore Art Design Competition 2024

รางวัลเกียรติยศ
Ms. CHUHAN ZHOU และ Mr. XINYU ZHANG พร้อมด้วยอาจารย์ ผศ.ดร.ธนสิทธิ์ จันทะรี และ ผศ.ดร.ณัฏฐพงศ์ พรหมพงศธร ได้รับรางวัลเกียรติยศจากผลงาน “Wamao Image Pattern Design” (การออกแบบลวดลายภาพวามาโอ) ซึ่งเป็นการผสมผสานศิลปะดั้งเดิมของยูนนานเข้ากับการออกแบบร่วมสมัย ผลงานนี้ได้ถ่ายทอดเอกลักษณ์ของแมวกระเบื้อง (Wamao) ผ่านการออกแบบเชิงเรขาคณิตและนามธรรม พร้อมทั้งผสมผสานลวดลายปักของชาติพันธุ์ Yi เข้าไว้ด้วยกัน

Ms. CHUHAN ZHOU ได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองแดงจากผลงาน “Timekeeping Device” อุปกรณ์บอกเวลาที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากปฏิทินสุริยคติสิบเดือนของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ Yi ผลงานนี้ได้นำเอาเสาโทเท็มทั้งสิบต้นมาผสมผสานกับการออกแบบร่วมสมัย สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการผสานวัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมเข้ากับสุนทรียศาสตร์สมัยใหม่

รางวัลเหรียญทองแดง
Ms. CHUHAN ZHOU และ Mr. XINYU ZHANG ได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองแดงจากผลงาน “Re-Tea Residue Planter” ซึ่งเป็นนวัตกรรมการออกแบบกระถางต้นไม้ที่ช่วยแปลงกากชาเป็นปุ๋ยธรรมชาติ โครงการนี้นำเสนอแนวคิดการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมผ่านการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ช่วยลดขยะในครัวเรือนและส่งเสริมการทำเกษตรในบ้าน
นอกจากนี้อาจารย์ที่ปรึกษา ได้แก่ ผศ.ดร.ธนสิทธิ์ จันทะรี และผศ.ดร.ณัฏฐพงศ์ พรหมพงศธร ยังได้รับรางวัลผู้สอนยอดเยี่ยมในงานประกวด Hong Kong Contemporary Design Awards ครั้งที่ 6 ซึ่งความสำเร็จในครั้งนี้แสดงให้เห้นถึงศักยภาพของนักศึกษาและคณาจารย์ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่ผสมผสานมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมเข้ากับการออกแบบร่วมสมัยได้อย่างลงตัว และนำเสนอผลงานที่มีคุณค่าในระดับนานาชาติ และสร้างชื่อเสียงให้กับคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นต่อไป

For their work titled “Wamao Image Pattern Design”, which combines traditional Yunnan art with contemporary design. This project conveys the identity of the tiled cat (Wamao) through geometric and abstract patterns, incorporating Yi ethnic embroidery motifs.
On this occasion, the advisors, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanasit Chantaree and Asst. Prof. Dr. Natthapong Prompongsatorn, also received the Outstanding Lecturer Award for their mentorship on the project.

For work titled “Timekeeping Device”, inspired by the ten-month solar calendar of the Yi ethnic group. This work integrates ten totem poles with contemporary design, reflecting a combination of traditional culture and modern aesthetics.
Note
The Yi ethnic group (Yi 彝族), also known as the Nuosu or Lolo people,
resides in regions within southern China, including Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. The Yi ethnic group speaks six distinct languages and is also considered the origin of the “Lahu” or “Muser” ethnic group in Thailand.

Students in the Master of Design Program
For their work titled “Re-Tea Residue Planter”, an innovative plant pot design that transforms tea waste into natural fertilizer. This project promotes environmental conservation through product design, which reduces household waste and encourages household gardening.
This success highlights the exceptional potential of both the students and lecturers in creating works that beautifully blend cultural heritage with contemporary design. Their achievements have earned international recognition and brought great pride to the Faculty of Architecture and Khon Kaen University.
